Libra (♎) is the seventh astrological sign in the Zodiac, originating from the constellation of Libra. It spans the Zodiac between the 180th and 209th degree of celestial longitude. In astrology, Libra is considered a "masculine", positive (extrovert) sign. It is also considered an air sign and is one of four cardinal signs. Libra is ruled by the planet Venus, which also rules Taurus.

According to traditional astrology under the tropical zodiac, the Sun enters Libra on the moment of the northern autumnal equinox on September 23, leaving it on October 22. In Sidereal astrology, the sun currently transits the constellation of Libra from October 16th to November 15th (approximately). Individuals born during these dates, depending on which system of astrology they subscribe to, may be called "Librans"
